Not everyone is a fan of Johnson City’s latest annexations plans.
The area targeted for annexation is along Highway 75 in Gray, Tenn. leading up to but not including the Gray Fossil Site.
Last night Gray residents told planning commission members that they don’t want to be a part of Johnson City citing that they would receive little or no benefit if annexed for double the taxes.
However, the city planning commission approved the plan, leaving county commissioner Mark Larkey to say they didn’t listen to the public. County Commissioner Larkey is talking about Chairman Ryan Broyles–the only planning commission member to vote against this annexation plan.
Larkey also says Gray residents won’t give up, and they’ll fight when this comes before the city commission.
